The second itinerary leads to the discovery of those places of worship where the beauty is at the service of the spirit. Sant’Antonio is an important figure for the city of Padua, but the surrounding area preserves testimonials of meaningful and worthy sites of faith deserving to be known as well. We could start from the parish church of Santa Maria in Maserà di Padova, where you can still see the foundations of the ancient Romanesque church, dating back to 970 AD, we come to the “Cappella degli Obizzi” of Albignasego, which preserves the 16th century frescoes by Stefano d’Arzere and then we reach the early medieval church of San Michele Arcangelo in Pozzoveggiani, a rare example of Carolingian architecture. The landscape wich, thanks to streets that run along the embankments, offers remarkable views since it is possible to have a higher perspective of the Paduan countryside. And further the sight of its beauty to the horizon, when it is not unusual to get into authentic masterpieces of architecture, as close to Mandriola, on the left bank of the Battaglia Canal stands the aristocratic Villa Molin.
You cross the river barrier and you reach the bridge of Voltabarozzo, you cross it to continue on the bike path on the opposite bank; you cross again the channel, called Scaricatore, which opened in the mid-nineteenth century, on the next footbridge and continue along the embankment. You then cross the busy road at the Isonzo bridge and enter via Vittorio Veneto. Afterward follow the left bank of the Barcari, embankment of the Battaglia canal, a long, straight cycle-pedestrian that runs along the canal and the SS 16 road up to Battaglia Terme and the castle of the Catajo. We cross the medieval bridge, mysteriously called "della Cagna", and the opposite and spectacular Villa Molin, continuing to the next bridge of the Fabbrica. Here you cross the canal and the SS 16 road and take via Manzoni. At a turning point you can continue straight on via Pascoli, underpass the motorway and get to a roundabout to Via Manzoni again. Continue straight and turn right at the next roundabout, now you are in Albignasego; turn left and then right to reach the parish church, where, behind the altar, is the beautiful Chapel of Obizzi, entirely frescoed in the sixteenth century. You then take via S. Eurosia in front of the church and then to the right to via Manzoni, and at the roundabout turn left into via della Costituzione and right again into via Battisti to the umpteenth roundabout. At the end of the street, go up to the right on the overpass in via Pellico, go down and at the roundabout turn right to cross via Mameli until the end. Reached the SS 16 road, take the first left (via Bolzani) and follow it to the Scuderia In Bloom, the headquarters of the Radicchio di Maserà Consortium and the Caseificio Salvò to finally reach the Conselvana road which leads you to the center of Maserà of Padua.
It's undertaking the second itinerary that we leave from Piazza Municipio in Maserà di Padova and, shortly after, we reach the Centro di Telefonia GD, in via Fiume, passing in front of the ancient parish church of S. Maria. Then turn right into via Chiusure and at a turning point go left into via Carpanedo, after the stop sign (via S. Stefano) continue straight ahead and turne right at the next right-angled corner. At the end of the street, turn left and then, in front of Villa Salom, turn left again. After passing the suburb, take the cycle path that after two underpasses leads straightaway to the center of Albignasego.
To prevent to slip into the daily traffic, turn right into Via 16 Marzo, where a flowerbed separetes the carriageways, continue in via Padova and left in via Verona. You reach then the Conselvana road (via Roma) passing on the right (cycle path on the opposite side) up to the Chiesetta dei Ferri.
Here you cross the road and take via Bosco Papadopoli, which soon becomes an unpaved trail and crosses the countryside. At its end, turn right and you'll reach the center of Salboro. At the roundabout in front of Villa Vanna, take the cycle path to the right and, when it interrupts, cross the road and enter the via Palla Strozzi that leads to via Pozzoveggiani, a few steps from the suggestive early medieval church of S. Michele Arcangelo. Follow the road to the left until the roundabout outside the village of Roncajette, turn right and you get to the Church of S. Fidenzio, at the foot of the Bacchiglione-Roncajette. After visiting the church, that preserves a medieval polyptych in the sacristy, take the embankment to the left and follow it for some kilometers until you get to Padua.
